Protesters from across the Northwest united together displaying huge banners and placards on and around the Spirit of Sport roundabout on De Havilland way Horwich next to the Macron stadium.

The Protesters who braved the cold and rain received an overwhelming amount of support from the general public. Thousands of motorist who flocked to the Macron football stadium and retail park honked their horns, waved and shouted words of support as they passed by. The area was particularly busy as it was a mach day at the Macron stadium.

One of the campaigners said "Despite the rain, today has been a success. We have raised awareness about fracking and expressed our disappointment with A E Yates. The support from the public has been wonderful I hope people will research the dangers of fracking and join our campaign."

Campaigners have been protesting at the A E Yates site on Cranfield Road, Lostock for over a week. Causing delays by slow walking the trucks and vehicles out of the plant each day.

Multiple Anti-fracking groups are planning to take more actions over the coming weeks. The campaigners are demanding A E Yates withdraw from working with the fracking company Caudrilla at the Preston new road site.
